For over 60 years, the Harleysville Jaycees (Junior Chamber of Commerce) have been bringing local businesses, community members and non-profit organizations together to make our community a better place to live and work. Our primary fundraiser is the annual Harleysville Country Fair Days, from which all proceeds benefit non-profit organizations and less fortunate families throughout our local community.

Officially chartered June 17, 1955, Harleysville was a viable location for a new chapter of the Jaycees because of its close knit sense of community combined with promising population growth. Today, our chapter enjoys continued success due to the efforts of its volunteer members. We are comprised of carpenters, bankers, construction workers, accountants, business owners and landscapers. Although we come from different backgrounds, we all share a common goal of giving back to the community through volunteerism.

The Jaycee Creed

We Believe:

That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;

That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;

That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;

That government should be of laws rather than of men;

That earth’s great treasure lies in human personality;

And that service to humanity is the best work of life.
