To All of our Patrons, Volunteers, Donors, & Supporters:
As we all are aware, the COVID19 pandemic has had a profound impact on the entire world. While there appear to be some glimmers of hope, it looks as though we’ll be dealing with the aftermath for the foreseeable future.
This impact has no doubt affected us all, whether it is a family member or friend infected by the disease, someone we know who is working on the front lines helping those that are sick, or the energy spent trying to cope with this event while navigating our own personal challenges.
The impact is also affecting all of our plans for the future, especially public events. As it pertains to our organization: each year during April and early May, we are normally busy planning the annual Harleysville Country Fair Days – an event that we’ve held every year for the past 52 years. As you may expect, the COVID19 pandemic has caused some very serious deliberation within our group as to what should be done regarding the 2020 Country Fair Days.
Consequently, we believe that the best way for all of us to get back to normal is by following the social distancing guidelines that have been put forth by our country’s health experts and government leaders.
Therefore, in accordance with the social distancing guidelines and with an abundance of caution for the safety of our community, it is with great regret that we have made the decision to cancel the 2020 Harleysville Country Fair Days.
This was a very difficult decision for us, not only because of the long history that we share with the community, but also because of the financial support and aid that we are able to return to those that need it most – all resulting from the fair.
As an organization, the Harleysville Jaycees’ primary goal is supporting those in need. We plan to continue doing this in other ways through the remainder of the year and hope to plan additional events for the community once things return to a state of normalcy.
In the meantime, we’ll be posting regular updates to our Facebook page to reflect and celebrate Fairs of the past. We encourage you all to do the same and to look toward the future with hope and love for one another and our great community, while remaining safe, cautious, and healthy today.
If you are able, please also consider making a donation to help give back to those who need it most within our community. Any amount that you give will help us provide assistance to the community in place of the funds that are typically raised by the Fair.
To Healthier Days Ahead,
