The Jaycees Support Jenna’s Blessing Bags

The Harleysville Jaycees are very proud to support Jenna’s Blessing Bags. The foundation’s focus is on putting together Survival Backpacks for the local homeless to help them through tough times, especially the winter months. Backpacks are filled with well-needed supplies such as warm clothing and blankets, food and drink, toiletries and first aid items. In the Summer months, the packs are stocked with well-needed items like sunscreen, rain ponchos, and sunglasses.

The foundation was created in honor of Jenna Burleigh, who was tragically taken away from us in the summer of 2017. Jenna was a Souderton Area High School alumni, she attended Montgomery County Community College and had just completed her first week of class at Temple University at the time of the tragedy. She was only 22 years old.

Jenna had a free spirit and a very big heart and had devoted a significant amount of her time to help the Philadelphia homeless, putting together Survival Bags such as these and giving them out. The foundation honors Jenna’s memory and allows her kind and generous spirit to carry on.

If you would like to support the charity, the foundation will be grateful to accept your monetary donations or sponsorship of survival bags. As well, there is an upcoming “Bingo Bash” event on March 22, 2019. Although tickets to attend have sold out, the foundation is still seeking local businesses to donate gift baskets to be raffled off at the event.
